Currently, we are offering Intro to K9 Nose Work, Intro to Odor and Nose Work Skills classes. Classes fill up fast, and we usually have a waiting list. To learn more, see class descriptions below.

In this class, we work with dog and handler to develop confidence and motivation for the game. Using a dog's favorite foods or toys, we develop the dog's independent hunting skills and the handler's observation skills – critical elements to being a more successful and in-tune Nose Work team. This is the foundation our other Nose Work classes.

Intro to Odor
When dog and handler teams have completed the Intro course, and dogs are working confidently and independently, and the human element of the team can read their dog's hunting behavior, they can sign up for the Intro to Odor class. We introduce the most common odors used in K9 Nose Work and scent work training and trialing: birch, anise and clove essential oils. For those who are interested in trialing, we will also cover some trial basics.

Nose Work Skill Building
Dogs and handlers who have completed both an Intro to K9 Nose Work and Intro to Odor class may take this class, where we work on more complex odor problems.

K9 Nose Work Field Trips
A four-week mini session for dogs who are on odor and have taken classes with Dog People in the past. These sessions are almost always outdoors at a location to be determined the week before the session.
